Tips on How to Increase One’s Credit Score

If you are looking for good advice on how to improve your credit score right off the bat, then this article is for you!

Many people wonder about how to raise their credit score without the help of a credit repair company. This article will start your journey through that process with 3 proven tips to begin establishing creditworthiness.

Here's The Process:

  1. OPT Out of Promotions. This keeps credit bureaus from selling your personal information including your name, SSN, D.O.B, gender, age, address, phone number, credit score, income, debt, and property information to companies that offer pre-approved credit.
  2. Order a free copy of your credit reports from www.annualcreditreport.com. Be sure to keep track of the report, file, and confirmation numbers associated with each bureau. You will need these numbers to access your reports online.
  3. Go to each of the 3 major credit bureau’s websites: Experian, TransUnion, Equifax, and use the report, file, or confirmation numbers to update your personal information by removing any name variations and old addresses that are associated with negative accounts. Only keep one main address on file.

Once you’ve cleaned up your personal information, it makes it harder for the credit bureaus to associate negative accounts with your name, and makes it easier for you to remove negative accounts during the dispute process.
